VOCATIONAL TRAINING TO POOR


Chethana Social Trust is helping poor women to improve their income level, by conducting free tailoring classes. A training centre  was started at Jeevakona, Tirupati in the premises of Goldenage Old age Home from the month of February,2016 . 20 Women were given training in tailoring and they are now getting decent income from tailoring. Poorest of the poor students were given tailoring machines.

From then onwards the free  training classes are being conducted at low income group living  locality to encourage them to participate in the classes. The training classes include measuring, cutting and stitching of baby gowns, petticoats, baby dresses, long frock, chudidar , gagra, umbrella cutting, blouses with and without lining, design blouses, etc. We are continuing the classes batch after batch, The results are good and encouraging. Most of the trainees are now earning by tailoring in Jeevakona, BTR Colony, Mangalam village, Ithepalli village and in the various parts of Tirupati town, Painting is also taught to students along with tailoring.

Now tailoring classes are being conducted at three locations for the poor women. A centre was opened at Jeevakona from February,2016 to October,2018.  A Centre was opened in BTR Colony, Mangalam village and is being continued till date. This  centre started functioning w.e.f. 1st. November,2018.  Another training centre was started in Ithepalli village 01/09/2019 for the benefit of rural women and the same continued till 29th April,2023. The women trained in that centre are now earning decent income.  Another centre was opened at Annarao Circle in Tirupati to train poor urban women on 1st October,2010 and continued till 30th June,2021.  The women  trained in this centre are earning decent income from tailoring. Later on 1st October,2021 another urban centre was opened in slum area of Sanjay Gandhi Colony, Tirupati to train the poor women in that area and the same is still continuing and demand was quite good.  After closing Ithepalli centre, we have shifted to Renigunta on 1st May,2023 and the first batch was with 12 students. At Jeevakona we have trained 201 students. At Mangalam, so far, we have trained 353 students. At Ithepalli we have given training to 146 women.   At Annarao Circle we have trained 20 women. At SGS Colony centre we have so far given training to 65 women. Totally 1200 poor women are so far given free tailoring training and most of them are persuing the tailoring. At present, the training process is going on  at B.T.R.Colony, Mangalam , SGS Colony,Tirupati and Renigunta villages. These tailoring training centres have now became our thrust area of service.
